Title: Bootlace 2.0.4 Released
Post by: Neonkoala on October 07, 2010, 12:40:21 PM
Bootlace 2.0.4 has been released. Find it on Cydia. This is the final update required just to upgrade to a new iDroid release. Future releases should not require a new Bootlace.

Major changes are support for combo update.

iDroid 1.0.3 is also available through Bootlace as of now too.

Yeh the first upload was corrupt but it was only up for about 15mins. SSH in, remove /var/cache/apt/archives/partial/be.dawson.bootlace-2.0.4.deb. Refresh Cydia sources. Then upgrade/install Bootlace package.

Problem is not related to Bootlace then. See this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=389997

I had installed idroid 1.0.3 manually worked fine. just deleted all files and folders related to it.
Upgraded to Bootlace 2.0.4 via Cydia no problem
When started Bootlace it still showed 1.0.2 so pressed remove.

then installed 1.0.3, succes, booted on first try,  everything (that should) seems to work.

http://www.idroidproject.org/forum/announcements/idroid-mojo-v1-0-3-release-announcement/ for iDroid changes. I'll update the wiki page soon with the changelog. You can see it within the Bootlace app already however.

I seem to be having an issue with Bootlace 2.0.4 on my iPhone 2G. I went to Cidya to upgrade and it appeared to work, then afterwards I go to start it and I get the splash screen, then the program just dies. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling, and removing then installing again; nothing has helped. Anyone experiencing something along those lines?

Odd. I'm on an iPhone 2G as well and Bootlace 2.0.4 works fine. What iOS firmware are you using?

Thats it. There's no Line 1 - 55 in the .log file. As for the firmware, I believe I'm running 3.1.3 (7E18) and modem firmware of 04.05.04_G

Yeh those line numbers refer to lines in source code. No log is missing. Could you come on IRC to debug please? irc.osx86.hu #iphonelinux

I used cydia to update my bootlace to 2.0.4, afterwards installed idroid 1.0.3. I boot then choose my Open Iboot Console. Holding the home button for 2 seconds I will end up a half screen with "Welcome to open Iboot" nothing from there. If I dont hold the home button it stops on "Welcome to open Iboot" as well but this time its jumbled. Leave it sit on either and no change.

Are you using openiBoot 0.1.2? if not that is the problem.

There's an option to boot into Android as long as you are the newest OpeniBoot 0.1.2.

But what you are describing is expected when you are choosing the Console option.  Older OpeniBoots (only 2 options) will not work with iDroid MoJo 1.0.3.

Thanks nickp666 & ddominator, I was able to update using the wiki to Iboot 1.0.3. Android  halts several things know when booting. But Im not where I can download and install. Will do so this evening.

The bootlace install process, and wiki steps have been awesome for bringing life back to my 2g.  So big thanks to devs and supporters in the forums.
