iPod touch 4g question.
« on: February 20, 2011, 02:18:38 PM »
Hello , i'm newbie here so sorry if i posted in the wrong section.
A week ago my father bought a HTC Desire smartphone and i really liked it's design and i like the android os with the multiply desktops :)
I searched the internet and found Bootlace , Openibot and iDroid , sadly none of them will work on iPod touch 4g :(
So my questions are :
1. Is there's a way to have android on iPod touch 4g?
2.If not is there a app to have multiply desktops with widgets like music player and etc?
3.Is there a way to make a home screen? Instead of the defult icons.
Thanks! :DD

For question 1:

Porting to iPod Touch 4G is not yet in progress because no one is porting to it yet (the guys doing the reverse engineering do not have iPod Touch 4G).  If you have reverse engineering skills, you can help with the porting.

Or if you are lazy to port, you can donate for the devs to get an iPod Touch 4G.

Once porting is complete or partially complete, Android can run on iPod Touch 4G.  But the timeframe for that cannot be said, it can be weeks, months, or years.  Take in mind that porting to the current devices (iPhone 2G, 3G and iPod Touch 1G) took around 1-2 years before the current state we are in (with some features still incomplete).

For questions 2-3: I think there are a lot of themes and stuff found on the ModMYI repo/site.  Of course, your iPod must be Jailbroken.

1. what ddominator said.
2. There is an HTC widget in Cydia, no forecast.
3. You already have a home screen, but if you wanna act like you got one in the middle, download SpringJumps.
Meh. You wouldn't care.
