This is going to be sad but the norbackup.dump is unique to every device so if someone gives you theirs, it might not work.

Have you tried a DFU restore? http://www.idroidproject.org/wiki/DFU

And what exactly is the problem? A simple restore can fix any error when iDroid is installed via Bootlace.

I did already restore the firmware. After the restore iTunes tells me that my iPod must be damaged and it cannot be activated. I jailbreaked it with redsn0w. Then iTunes shows the normal screen and syncs apps to my iPod, but iTunes doesn't show my serial number and iPod still shows the "Connect to iTunes"-screen. It also shows the UIAlertview how to move apps on the homescreen as it does when you first boot. but there is no "OK"-button. Just the UIAlertview and the "Connect to iTunes"-screen…

btw I'm not sure if the backup is broken but my backup is named "norbackup.dump" and if I type "!nordump.bin" the console tells me "File not found: nordump.bin", so I typed "!norbackup.dump" and then "nor_write 0x09000000 0x0 0x100000" But when I reboot then, I cannot boot anymore. the screen stays black. So I have to restore and everything starts from the beginning ;D

What exactly did happen that broke the ipod?

And how did you make the nor backup in the first place?

the backup was made, when I installed openiBoot. I broke my iPod by trying to install the multitouch firmware to openiBoot and making a mistake.

How did you install OpeniBoot? If "norbackup.dump" was created by oibc, then there is a bug we must fix.

I have never seen any need for normal users to have to restore their NOR. A restore would most likely have fixed any problems. As you have now written to the NOR you are most likely screwed.

How did you create the NOR backup? Using oibc or using iPhodroid tools?

I created it using oibc on Mac OS 10.6.5…

But I am not sure if I did restore it the right way…
here http://www.idroidproject.org/wiki/NOR_Backup it says "Now type "!nordump.bin" (without quotes). This will send your NOR back-up to the iDevice. Wait for it to finish."
But the console tells me "file not found: nordump.bin" so I typed "!norbackup.dump" but if I do so, my iPod must be restored…

Did I do everything right?

Hmm when you installed OpeniBoot via, was there a NOR backup file created?

iOS is always on recovery right? So at least it's not bricked and you just need to kick it out of recovery. Try some tools like iRecovery before we do the norbackup issue.

There was created a "norbackup.dump"…
I think it is a nor backup file…

iOS does always show the recovery screen. And iTunes tells me that my iPod is broken… But when I jailbreak it with redsn0w, iTunes recognizes my iPod as a new iPod. I can sync apps and do everything using iTunes. But my iPod still shows the recovery screen…

I'll try iRecovery in a minute…

what the hell?! It seems to work!!!!
I didn't do anything!
My iPod battery was empty…
now I connected my iPod to my iMac to load its battery... and the recovery screen went away…

but I think there is still a problem because itunes doesn't show my serial number…

It doesn't work -.-
I restored my iPod using iTunes and now the same problem as before -.-

btw I think that my iPod is not in recoverymode. I think the only problem is, that iTunes doesn't activate it...

I think I found a way to make my iPod touch working...
If I restore and jailbreak it shows the connect to iTunes Screen...
When I let run down the battery completely, and connect it then to iTunes, the Screen disappears and everything (exept serial number) works fine... But I have to to these steps after every restore...
