Stuck at welcome to openiboot
« on: November 14, 2010, 10:52:42 PM »
well as the title says really, I have looked through the forums and across the web and cant seem to find the same issue or if i do its not been resolved or replied to.

I have followed the steps to install openiboot, from recovery it goes well but the welcome to openiboot is corrupted and non of the lines of text read properly, it wont let me go to console or boot into android, if i enter the ./obic command the text corrects itself but thats all it does

just to let you know, ive tried multiple jailbreaks all with the same outcome, im on 3.1.2

and will the process work if ive installed idroid through bootlace before attempting to install openiboot

thanks in advance guys as its really wound me up

:)

Wait, how can you not go into console? WELCOME TO OPENIBOOT is the console mode.

If you meant can't go into iOS:
http://www.idroidproject.org/wiki/Recovering_from_iphodroid#Directly_boots_into_OpeniBoot_Console

If you can go to iOS properly:
Anyways, don't bother if the text looks corrupted.  It's just the framebuffer doesn't clear properly.

Any details of your PC OS, running virtual machines?

There's something strange with oibc that you have to have correct timing to enter sudo ./oibc

either after you see Welcome to Openiboot works for me or try immediately upon selecting console mode.

Well you can still try to use sudo ./oibc in the meantime.

Good luck.

Take note though that the current version of iDroid is not yet meant as a replacement for iOS.
